Anna E. Akins, 81, of 105 Geneva Street, Apt 323, passed away Tuesday (June 22, 2010) at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira.
Born in Woodhull, September 21, 1928, the daughter of Arthur and Helen Aldrich Brewer, she had resided in Wheeler most of her life before moving to Bath in 2005. She had been employed at Westinghouse in Bath, Gunlocke in Wayland, and enjoyed her work as a home health aide.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Carlton Applebee and Percy Akins, one brother, Eugene Brewer.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Christine) Applebee of Dundee, Calvin (Mary) Applebee of VA., Alice Jean Royce of Elmira, Ruth (Daniel) Jacobs of Rochester, Ruby Jewell of NJ, Debra Herbert of Campbell, Lucy DeLill of Minnesota, sisters, Sarah Stratton of Bath, Vera Lucas of Missouri, Marie Leiter of Hilton, Onalee McFall of Missouri, Agnes Learn of Cameron Mills, Lillian Brewer of Canisteo, Bernice Brewer of Woodhull and June Learn of Addison, brothers, Daniel Brewer of Oregon, David Brewer of Addison, Kenneth Brewer of Williamson, Mervin Brewer and Jay Brewer both of Woodhull, 22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
