Alma Ruth Muller, widow of Edward W. Muller died Wednesday (January 16, 2008) at home.



Alma Ruth was born in Chariton,Iowa to S.G. and Ellen Morris.She graduated from Chariton High school and then attendedand graduated from Northern Iowa State Teachers' College, the University of Northern Iowa. She began her teachingcareer in the rural schools of Lucas County, Iowa. She then taught in the townof Lucas and Ft. Madison, Iowa, Aurora, Illinois.,and Denver, Colorado.



December 1947 she was married to Edward W. Muller, who diedin 1981. Mr. & Mrs. Muller made their home in Hornell. Alma Ruth taughtmany years in the Hornell public schools, retiring in June, 1973.



She is survived by a son, Fred of CA and a daughter, Janet Wolfanger of Hornell, two grandchildren and nieces andnephews survive her.



In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by hersister, Sadie Ansley, Three brothers- Lloyd who diedin Chariton and James and Wesley, each died when very young and the family livedin Illinois; Also a nephew, Emerson Ansley of CA.



She was a member of Hornell United Methodist Church.The Rev Beth Kottemann of the church will conduct theservices assisted by retired Rev. Frank MacLaughlin.The family will be present to receive friends at the Hornell United Methodist Churchon Saturday (January 19,2008) from 1 until 3Pmwhere funeral services will follow calling hours at 3PM. Because of allergies no flowers can beaccepted at the church.



In addition to her church Ruth was a member of TheAssociation for Retarded Citizens, Hornell Fortnightly Club and sub groups, TheGarden Club and The book Club and a group called The Discussion Club.
