Alice L. Stewart, 81, of Angelica Street, passed away Saturday (September 1, 2012) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Hornell, August 13, 1931, the daughter of Lester and Ila (Prouty) Goodwin, she had resided in the Hornell Area all her life. Alice was a graduate of the Hornell High School and retired as a Server working for Aces at Alfred State College. She loved shopping, reading, camping, but most of all her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Stewart in 1989, one brother; Jack Goodwin.
She is survived by two sons; Thomas C. (Denise) Stewart of Almond and Charles L. (Sherry Eason) Stewart of Hornell, one sister Marge Lawrance of San Diego, sister-in-law, Ruth Sleight of Fl, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, her dog Sam and cat Miss Kit.

. The family is being assisted by Adam E. DuBois, Director at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Hornell.
Honoring Alice's wishes there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Jerry Springston officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
