Alberta J. Morse, 84, of 26 Elm Street, passed away unexpectedly Monday (May 23, 2011) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Hartsville, February 20, 1927, the daughter of Clarence and Olive Stephens Carney, she had resided in the Canisteo area all her life. She had been employed as a dietitian Aide at St. James Mercy Hospital prior to her retirement in 1989. She attended the Canisteo Wesleyan Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Royce, Harry, Lester, and Larry Carney and her husband, Harlan Morse in 2003.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (David) Harding and Brenda Gloss both of Canisteo, her sons, Randy (Bonnie) Morse of Canisteo and Bruce Morse of Florida, her sisters, Ruth ( Richard ) Davis of Canisteo, Ina Emory of Avoca, and Gladys DuBois of Hartsville, brothers, Clyde Carney, Milburn (Sally) Carney and Neil Carney all of Canisteo, and Roger (Diane) Carney of Hartsville, 10 grandchildren, Cindy Henry of Canisteo, Marcia (Eric) Fish of North Carolina, Scott Morse of Canisteo, Kimberlee Stock of Kentucky, Brian (Cathy) Morse of North Carolina, Steven (Kelly) Morse of Hornell, Jeff (Jannel) Ames of Florida, Casey Chriscaden of Hornell, Seana Gloss of Canisteo and Kathleen Gloss of Minnesota, longtime family friend, Jim Quagliana of Florida, 6 Great Grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo, on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM where Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM, Rev. Max Vroman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
