Alberta W. Lines, 83, formerly of Hornell, passed away Friday (February 8, 2008) in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Born in Cooperstown, May 7, 1924, the daughter of Lee and Gertrude Welch, she had resided her early life in Cooperstown,before moving to Hornell from Moraviain 1968. After receiving her nursingdegree, she was employed at the former Bethesda Community Hospital, and later the Hornell Gardens. Alberta was very involved in the literacyvolunteers while in Hornell and continued in the STAIR Program at the DeepCreek Elementary School in Port Charlotte .She was a member of the former St. Paul'sUnited Church of Christ in Hornell, and at the time of her death, a member ofthe Pilgram United Church of Christ in Port Charlotte.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Bradley T. Lines whomshe married September 20, 1947, her daughter, Robin (Walter) Randall ofHornell, her sons, Arthur (Sue) Lines of Michigan, Willard (Nancy) Lines ofMinnesota, Marcus Terry (Rita) Lines of New Hampshire and Bradley T. Lines(Diane) Jr. of Bath, 4 grandchildren, Matthew (Kim) Randall of Bath, PatriciaRandall of Rochester, Marcus Alan Lines of Georgia and Jeffrey David Lines ofMichigan, one great grandson, Nathan Randall.

The family will be observing a memorial service in Florida on Tuesday and agraveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo inthe spring at a time to be announced.
