Alan Reitnauer age 63, passed away suddenly on Tuesday (May 13, 2025) at his home.
He was born on January 17, 1962 in Hornell, NY the son of Earl Reitnauer and Sandra Jamison Reitnauer, and was a graduate of Canisteo Central School. Alan had worked for many years at Alstom, and was currently employed at the New York State DOT in Hornell.
Alan took after his father and loved to dabble in furniture repair and refinishing, and carpentry. He was a lover of the outdoors and hunting and was a true card shark.
Alan was predeceased by his parents Earl and Sandy and an infant brother Michael Reitnauer.
He is survived by his wife Corinne Husted Reitnauer whom he married February 28, 1997, his sons Justin (Jarrah) Reitnauer of Salamanca, Jamie (Melanie) Reitnauer of Binghamton, his daughter Allison Reitnauer of Salamanca, his brother David (Elisha) Reitnauer of CA, grandchildren Layla, Merle, Anakin, Noah, Gracelynn, sister in law Barbara Gursky, nieces and nephews Emily, Chris, Kathy, Alex, Lucian, Stacey and Tom.
The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday (May 20, 2025) from 3-5pm at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell, where a Funeral Service will be held at 5:00pm. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
