Alan B. Kemnitzer, 78, passed away Monday (March 14, 2011) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Buffalo, NY, September 22, 1932, the son of Robert and Lydia (Schmidt) Kemnitzer, he had resided in Hornell the past 29 years. Alan served his country as a member of the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a Processing Operator for the Ashland Oil Company in Tonawanda.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as two brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by wife, Marion (Davis) Kemnitzer whom he married in 1955, one son, Alan N. (Sharon) Kemnitzer of Sinking Spring PA, one daughter, Eileen (Bob) Reiner of Hamburg, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM Thursday (March 17, 2011) at the Robertson Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell where funeral services will follow calling hours at 11 AM with Rev. Craig Brittingham officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Kenmore.
