There is one less man left of the greatgeneration. Addison C. Wallace, 85,of
256Grand Street, was born July 8, 1920 in the Village of Nunda. He was the son of Charles and Nina QuestedWallace. He was a graduate of Castile High School, Class of 1938, and attended Houghton College, Cornell, Alfred Universityand Blackstone School of Law. He spent 3? years in the United States Air Force, mostly at Great Falls Army Air Base inMontana where he helped to pioneer the Aircraft Blind Landing System. He was a mason of some 60 years in Castile , NY,and also was a member of the American Legion and the NRA. On June 21, 1944, he was married to Mary Motts of Silver Springs, NY,while still in the army. He was a realestate representative for the New York State Electric & Gas Corp. for 34years, retiring in 1981. While with the company, he was named " Right Of WayMan Of The Year" for the state in 1972.
Addison was a lovinghusband, caring father, proud grandfather and downright nice man. His wit, goodwill, great spirit and humor will be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Lee Wallace in1947, brothers LavernWallace,
Howard Wallace, DeanWallace, Ronald Wallace, Robert Wallace
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Hornell, two children,Gary and Karen LenneyWallace
of Odgensburg, Sandra (John ) Benson of Corning, twograndchildren, Jamie Wallace Knowles of Corning and Dorian Lenney-Wallaceof Odgensburg, NY, 2 sisters, Arlene Baker of Warsaw andEleanor Quandt of Virginia., nieces & nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends areinvited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday at 2 :00PM at the BENDER-BROWN & POWERS FUNERAL HOME,
354 Canisteo Street, Hornell, NY.Military Honors will be accorded during the Memorial Service.
