Dena Spencer age 69 of State Route 961F, passed away peacefully on Friday (April 5, 2024) at UR Jones Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Hornell, NY the daughter of Erroll “Dean” Spencer and Molly Gregorius Spencer, and was a graduate of Canaseraga Central School. She was a member of the Canaseraga American Legion Auxilliary and a communicant of St Marys Catholic Church in Canaseraga. She had worked for Forbes Products and for the Hornell Gardens. Dena love dogs and was a talented water color artist, a huge Cleveland Brown fan, but will be most remembered for her incredibly quick wit and humor.

She was predeceased by her parents and 2 brothers Daryll and Lee Spencer.

She is survived by her life partner Crystal Kenyon of Canaseraga, her 2 brothers Charles (Holley) Spencer of Canaseraga, Aaron (Christine) Spencer of Somers, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Friday (April 12, 2024) from 5-7pm at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell. A Mass will be celebrated at the St Marys Catholic Cemetery on Saturday (April 13, 2024) at 11:00am with Father John Cullen as celebrant. Burial will be at St Marys Catholic Cemetery in Canaseraga.
