John Cartwright Jr., 85 of 79 Hemlock St., entered into rest with his family at his side on Sunday (June 26, 2011)
He was born in Painted Post and resided most of his life in Dansville, then moving to Hornell three years ago.
John served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He then was employed as a truck driver and construction worker until he retired.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by a daughter Victoria.
He is survived by his loving wife Hilda (Stein) Cartwright of Hornell, daughter Linda (Will) Prodell of Micco FL, son, Steven (Lori) Cartwright of Leicester, Step-son, David (Tina) Frost of Wayland, Step-Son, Lynn Frost of Hornell, Step-daughter, Kimberly Frost of Geneseo, Sister, Laura (David) Tracy of Pavilion. 9 Grandchildren, Jason Wood, Michael Frost, Matthew Frost, Erin (Mike) Kewin, Tracy Frost, Monica (Chris) D'Agostino, Joshua (Brystal) Cartwright, Stephanie Cartwright, Lynn Pete Van Buren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Honoring John's wishes, family and friends may gather from 2-4 PM on Saturday (July 9, 2011) at the Cartwright home, 79 Hemlock St., ( Green Acres Park) in Hornell. .
In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be made to the National Leukenia Society.
