Rosemary J. Hadsell, 70, of Greeley Avenue, passed away Monday (January 14, 2019) at St James Hospital.



Born in Hornell, April 27, 1948, the daughter of Fredrick and Minzie Stage Groves, she had resided in Hornell and Almond all her life.



She was a graduate of Hornell High School and had attended the State University of New York at Alfred. She had been employed at Alstom, Gunlocke, Super 8 Motel, and retired from Steuben Trust Company in Hornell where she was employed as a loan officer for 10 years.



She was predeceased by her parents; Fredrick and Minzie Groves, her husband; Clinton Hadsell Sr. in 1993, four sisters; Mabel Groves, Nancy Fisk, Sandra Rinaldi, and Trudy Snyder, and her son-in-law, Patrick Darnley.



She is survived by four daughters; Nancy Stewart of Hornell, Tracy Darnley of Hornell, Colleen (Andrew) Eldridge of Hornell and Terri (Bill) Ellis of Hornell, one son; Clinton (Nancy) Hadsell Jr. of Almond, two sisters; Elizabeth Stiles of Hornell and Candice Mead of Hornell, five brothers; Steven (Sue) Groves of Hornell, Fredrick (Sue) Groves of Cameron, John (Kathie) Groves of Almond, David (Anna) Groves of Greenwood and Richard (Lori) Fisk of Bolivar, thirteen grandchildren; Clifford Stewart, Joseph Hadsell, Rachael Hadsell, Charles Stewart Jr, Amanda Stewart, Kyle Hadsell, Samantha Seager, Trevor Ellis, Chelsea Ellis, Zachary Eldridge, Jeremy Eldridge, Walker Ellis and Ayden Eldridge,17 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM, Rev. Patrick Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Almond.
