Norma Mary Burdick 84 a longtime resident of the Wellsville Manor, passed away peacefully Friday (April 20, 2012).
Born in the Town of Alfred, July 8, 1927 the daughter of Arthur E. and M. Gretchen (Clare) Burdick, she was a lifelong area resident. Norma the second oldest child residing with her parents in Alfred Station for most of her life. Norma enjoyed visits with her cousin Lucy and all the travels she made with Arthur and Gretchen. Her hobbies included collecting sea shells, wathcing birds, and writing poetry. She had a book of poetry printed in 1988. Other hobbies she enjoyed were competing in the Golden Olympics and playing Bingo.
Survivors are her sister Thelma (Lyle) Palmiter of Alfred Station, 2 brothers Douglas (Mary Jane) Burdick of Alfred Station and Charles (Jackie) Burdick of Alfred Station, many nieces, nephews and all her many friends at the nursing home.
A Graveside service will be held at the Alfred Rural Cemetery on Wednesday (April 25, 2012) at 11:00am, and a Memorial service at the Wellsville Manor Nursing at 1:30pm with the Rev. Ken Chroniger officating both services.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alfred 7th Day Baptist Church, The Bakers Bridge Historical Association, or the Activities Fund at the Wellsville Manor Nursing Home.
