Shirley L Ross, 82, formerly of Allegany Ave, passed away Sunday (January 8, 2012) at Absolut At Houghton.
Born in Corning, February 8, 1929, the daughter of William and Grace (McCoy) Wilson, she was a lifelong area resident. Shirley was a member of the Angelica United Methodist Church, the Angelica Chapter of the OES, and also enjoyed bowling. She had worked for Doctor Graham for many years, in the Amity Medical Center in Angelica and Belmont, and was retired from the Village of Angelica as Village Clerk in 2000. Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald Ross in 2008 and 2 sisters Grace Burr, and Hilda Overstrom.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Ross of Angelica, 3 sons William Ross of Angelica, Dana (Sue) Ross of Belmont, Kevin (Joanne) Ross of Belfast, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her sister in law E. Louise Ross of Angelica, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday, with an Eastern Star service at 8:00pm January 11, 2012, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave., Angelica. Funeral services will be held Angelica United Methodist Church on Thursday, at 11:00 AM, Rev. Tim Middleton officiating. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Angelica.
