Jack A. Losey

 

               Andover

 

Jack A. Losey, 71, of 1780 Wallace Road, Town of West Union, passed away  Tuesday (October 4, 2011) at St. James  Mercy Hospital.

 

Born in Wellsville,  March  2, 1940, the son of Lewis and Marian  Heselton  Losey, he had resided in Andover since 1948. He had been employed by the Town of Willing Highway Department for several years as well as Stout Bros. Sales and Service in Hallsport. He then owned and operated his own dairy farm for 23 years in the Town of West Union.  Jack served his country as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam Era.

 

Jack was a member of the former West Union Grange, enjoyed farming and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed restoring antique tractors with his son John, and was proud to display them in parades, shows and tractor pulls. 

 

He was predeceased by his parents.

 

He is survived by his wife, Janice Evans Losey of Andover ,to whom he was married 41 years,  one son, John Losey of Andover, 4 brothers, Victor (Kathy) Losey and Lewis (Nellie) Losey both of Bath, James Losey of Rexville and Ben Losey of Tenn., nieces & nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Saturday October 8, 2011, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo where funeral services will be held  at 8:00 PM.
