            Brockport

 

Ethelyn A. Aldrich, 98, of 3939 Lake Road North, formerly of Alfred Station passed away peacefully Wednesday (December 7, 2011) at Lakeside Beikirch Care Center in Brockport.

 

Born in Alfred Station, August 6, 1913, the daughter of Harry and Bessie (Pettibone) Austin, she was a lifelong Alfred Station resident, moving to Brockport about a year ago. She was a member of the Kanakadea McArthur Chapter 242 OES, also the oldest member of the Alfred Station 7th Day Baptist Church, the Bakers Bridge Historical Society, and a former member of the Alfred Station Fireman’s Auxiliary.

 

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Simon P. Aldrich in 1970, her son Simon A. Aldrich in 2002, and her brother Leighton Austin.

 

She is survived by 2 daughters Alice Bel Aldrich of Brockport, Frances (Roger) Reynolds of Hamlin, a sister Louise Woodruff, 5 grandchildren, Shelly (Thomas) Kok of Lynden, WA,  Judy (Robert) Jones of Brockport, NY,  Jill (William) Giese of Hornell, NY,  Kris Reynolds of Hamlin, NY and Mark Reynolds of Rochester, NY, 8 great grandchildren Tom, Jed and Amanda Kok; Colby Jones; Billy, Cortnee and Andrew Giese and Nikholas Reynolds,  nieces and nephews.

 

The family will be present 12-1pm Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Thomas Kok officiating.   Private family burial will be in Alfred Rural Cemetery.
