Blanche M. Sawyer

Blanche M. Sawyer, 77, of 8 Purple Street, passed away  Sunday (August 22, 2010)  at the home of her daughter in Wellsboro.

 

Born in Hartsville, March 12, 1933, the daughter of Walter D.  and Mildred  Rowe Amidon, she had resided her early life in Hartsville and graduated from Canisteo Central School, Class of 1951. She later moved to Austinburg, PA, later living in Woodhull from 1964 until 1995. Blanche was active in the Grange for several years. 

 

She was predeceased by her parents, her son, Walter Sawyer in 1956, her husband Donald K. Sawyer in 1995, as well as 2 sisters, Beverly Amidon and Norma Robinson, and her brothers, Ward and Stanley Amidon.

 

She is survived by 5 daughters, Penny (Larry) Kahle of Eldred, Pa. Donna (John) Stevens of Middlebury  Center, PA., Bonny (Dave) Wright of Wellsboro, Carol (Russ) Redell Jr. of Wellsboro and JoAnn (Joe) Osgood of Wellsboro, 2 sons, Donald (Dawn) Sawyer of Chesnee , South Carolina and David (Janine) Sawyer of Wellsboro, 17 Grandchildren; Chris Claycomb, Michelle Sawyer, Michael Sawyer, Megan Sawyer, Morgan Sawyer, Eric Warriner, Corey Stevens, KayLee Stevens, Sean Wright, Sara Jo Wright, Layton Wright, Zachery Redell, Bianca Redell, Kody Sawyer, Kait Sawyer, Ryan Osgood and Shelby Osgood, Great Grandchildren, Ethan Claycomb, Logan Claycomb, and Dylan Holsonback, Several nieces & nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from  2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo where funeral services will be held  on Thursday  at 11:00 AM.  Rev. Donald Maynard will officiate.  Burial will be in Cline Cemetery, Hartsville.
